The Houses of Parliament - also known as Westminster Palace - is made up of The House of Commons and the House of Lords. It is situated on the north bank of the River Thames. The oldest part of the Houses of Parliament is Westminster Hall, which dates back to 1097. Although parts have been restored or have burnt down over time the original walls and floor still remain.
