There has been a St Paul's Cathedral for over 1,400 years - though it has been rebuilt five times. Construction of St Paul's as we know it began in June 1675 and the architects were Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor. In 1669 Christopher Wren was commissioned to design and build St Paul's Cathedral, he had rebuilt many churches that had been destroyed in the great fire.
